Our Services

After School Care

We provide a fun, engaging environment for students after school.  We ensure homework is completed and checked prior to departure.

We provide pickup service to seven local schools:
Pine view Elementary School, Sanders Memorial Elementary School, Imagine School of Land O Lakes, Lutz K-8 School, Mckitrick Elementary School, Lutz Preparatory School, Sunlake Academy of Math And Science

We provide individual tutoring services on site, at your home and virtually.

We also provide Group Tutoring service at the After School Scholar facility. Tutors facilitate group interaction and learning so that students are actively thinking, explaining, solving problems and integrating their knowledge.

E-Learning & Homeschool

We support e-learners virtually and on-site to help students navigate online requirements.  We also provide a space for e-learners to attend online classes when at-home learning is not possible.

Home School Enrichment includes group classes to help your child meet other students and to support your child’s learning goals.

Our Classes

Intro to Computers

This class is an introduction to typing, OS, word processing programs, and spreadsheets.  We also review and discuss online safety.

Coding Class

Your child will learn to write computer programs using a graphic-based computer programming language developed by Microsoft.

Book Club

Book clubs are a great way to learn. By reading and discussing books, children develop a love of reading and important language and literacy skills.

Summer Camp

Summer vacation doesn’t have to be a vacation from learning.  Keep your children engaged during the summer at The After School Scholar Summer Camp, where they will experience important STEAM concepts.  Students receive individualized instruction to master academic concepts, enjoy daily outdoor activities, and take weekly educational field trips in a fun atmosphere.  Week long camps are available in age groups 5-8 years and 9-13 years.

Creative Writing

This specialization covers elements of three major creative writing genres: short story, narrative essay, and memoir. You will master the techniques that good writers use to compose a bracing story, populated with memorable characters in an interesting setting, written in a fresh descriptive style. You will analyze and constructively evaluate peer writing. In the capstone, you will draft, rewrite, and complete a substantial original story in the genre of your choosing.

STEM Class

“In the 21st century, scientific and technological innovations have become increasingly important as we face the benefits and challenges of both globalization and a knowledge-based economy. To succeed in this new information-based and highly technological society, students need to develop their capabilities in STEM to levels much beyond what was considered acceptable in the past.” (National Science Foundation)
